MOEN Distortion Master

Post by Hurb »

During recent recordings for combo like rambo I got increasingly pissed off with my rock tones. Now recording is over I thought it's time to tell fuzz to get fucked and get me some distortion on the cheap. I was scanning ebays and narrowed my search to either a danelectro blue paisley a fab tone distortion and then I came across this moen master distortion.
The blue paisley although it looked like it would be a great pedal is more an overdrive based on the tube screamer(albeit with more tweakabillity) I may still get one in the future. the fab (the cheapest) Also looked cool and I remember mike had the overdrive of that series and said it was cool. but I actually found sound samples of the moen and it was cheaper than it should be (25 quid instead of 59) so i clicked on buy it now. I will report back when it gets here.
but until then check out there website with corny sound samples

yes I realise that distortion master is pretty awful sounding name for a pedal haha

Yeah I probably will at some point. My inquisitive mind made me have to try this thing first though.

the sound sample of that moen sounded kinda crap, never tried the fab series but it's dirt cheap so worth a shot i guess

Oh MAN, there's a hilarious video from some weird guitar shop on youtube, showing the whole line of Moen boxes. I'll see if I can find it tonight.

It didn't have enough beef on the dirt dial I seem to remember, I really in an ideal world I would want a bass middle and treble control. loads of distortion on tap and a clean mix knob too.

where are you pedal of my dreams!!!!

doog those videos would be great I had never heard of moen until last night I don't think.

It's really odd, it's like a guy speaking in Engrish, but he's got a fairly English accent. Highlights include "clear sound", "trash metal" and the guy playing Smells Like Teen Spirit for one of the riffs.

That fuzz pedal sounds pretty kool even on cock cam. It's supposed to be a muff clone. I never used to like my big muff. But that sounded pretty kool.
