i apologize if you've already answered this question, but what kind of tone are you going for? i think you're wise to replace the stock bronco pup...it sounds like shit to me everytime i've played one.

for me, if i was going to mod it like you're talking about, i'd probably drop p-bass pups in there., i think they'd have the right kind of punch you're describing. but if you want some more versatility and wiggle room for tones and what not, maybe a jazz bass pickup setup is what you want...? it might look funky with the full set of Jbass pups though...ooh! i single jazz bass pup might look cool on that body...

Im looking for versatility. I like deep lows, nice highs, ... eh that doesn't explain much. But the way I judge a pickup is if the sustain is good, if I can physically feel the lows when I play, and if the highs play smoothly, not twangy. Listen to "Rock Candy" on the Swing Hailey Demo, I want a pickup that'll bring that song out.
