newbie post, mold spore/fuzzfactory demo

Post by joegagan »

hi, i stumbled across some of the members' demo vids , so i thought i would join. looks like a fun forum.
i like to make noise and play guitar.

i have a bunch of utube vids, about half of them are showing my effects - unique fuzzes, + wah w/ octave at same time, and my latest vid is the snarling dogs mold spore wah/ring mod, also utilizing a fuzzfactory at the end of the demo.

the mold spore does a GREAT talking effect, be sure and listen at the 2:20 mark , to about 3:20

Hey Joe! Just watched the snarling dogs vid before I saw you post. I love it, I'm going to have to get one one day.

Welcome to the forum.

i found this one in a back room of my local music go round store, stripped of its pots and switches.

i bought it very cheap and sent kenny segall of snarling dogs an email asking how to wire the switches.

he told me it would be easier for him to do it, so i sent it to him. for a very reasonable price he made it better than new.

kenny is really cool in my book!

I used to have a Mold Spore, way fun pedal- the bypass kinda bled into the clean signal though :/

Welcome aboard!

welcome to the site man!

i liked the video, it sounds like a really cool pedal. i never knew the hype about the wah, because i didnt know it was a ring mod! i also liked the way you made the demo! you sound like one of those coolass NAMM presenters..

kudos!

thanks guys.
i plan to keep making more gear demos. i must admit that my style of presenting the gear is influenced by some of the members here when i saw their videos!

i also dig fatback, he makes a lot of gear demos and he is getting into video effects so they are really fun to look at too.

namm shows? no, but i used to do booths at the texas guitar shows....

apparently there were quality problems with the chinese mfgr.

there were many online accounts of the snarldogs stuff breaking down a lot.

i suspect kenny got tired of fighting the quality probs.

i am so glad i got a chance to have him fix it up for me

Shame you didn't demo the mode where the pedal controls the wah AND ring mod frequency, that's some fun crap.

hey, i have to leave some of the cool shit for the next video!

i have found that to keep my vids simple (it was already 5 minutes!), i just find one or two cool things to feature, spend just a few minutes getting oriented to those controls and ignore everything else.

look for part 2 comin up....

Wow, that first demo is awesome. The 2:20 part where you started introducing the "talking sounds" reminded me of EHX demos when they'll have the lady do the "YEAHHHHHS" or "Feels like the 60s, yeahhhhhh" haha. I really enjoyed it, and welcome to the site!

I am familiar with your name(joegagan) from several DIY pedal websites, and the schematics you've posted over the years. But I also remember some bad situations I read about on several forums involving you and pedals that were never delivered.

Come now, play nice.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention jcyphe (and unnamed other). We'll keep an eye out. If you're here just to hang out and have fun, then we're all good joegagan. But if you're trying to pull a fast one Mezz will get you sacked from wherever you work.
