The harley benton 5w tube

Post by izodiak »

http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_ga5.htm I think this amp may be good for a start, I mean, five simple tube watts and then get a nice simple cabinet, with a good speaker.. adn yes, maybe change a the tubes for 70 pounds it isnt bad, or is it ? has anyone tried it ? Im just asking, just checking out the 'cheap end' of things..

Since it's almost identical to the Epiphone Valve Jr, except it has a tone control, I'd say it'll sound the same as well. So I would say it's worth it, yeah.

http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_ga5h.htm this is way better.. no silly tiny speaker.. Yes thats what I thought , I am just looking for a cheap nice sounds providing bedroom amp. Is it possible to build a cabinet nice by yourself, is it cheaper, I know when making something by yourself tje budget shouldnt be the reason, but still.

For the extra 7 quid I'd buy the combo version, you can still plug it into a cab all the same.

but the speaker could be pretty much awful. And about the tubes.. what is the sound difference between groove tubes and soviet, as I understand thats a long subject, but maybe there are some pages with easy explanations.. Where is the difference in the preamp and the amp tubes etc..

If it was, then I'd plug it into a cab. If it wasn't, it's not like it's double the price, I'd be willing to spend the extra to find out.

Yeah, >Deadonkey< has. Then he modified it seriously. I don't know what state it's in now. We lost all that stuff when the forum got trashed. If you look on their clearance page I've seen a returned unit as low as £55.

I wanna extend my thanks to Mike for actually encouraging me to post rather than hiding my NSFW facts, even though this is not NSFW, whatever.

this demo is just great, totally awesome.. But the Harley benton has a EQ , or that makes things worse, its better to get an EQ like in a shape of a pedal, right.. (that demo ir great KRDSH..)

basically it hisses and hums and it's getting a complete point to point build up sometime soon, with an added tone stack and gain control.

Sloan is fucking awesome. When he was in his demofest mode when he was churning them out daily I almost threw myself on my own sword he was that good.

Lucky he's a skaghead now so he gets nothing done.
