Has anyone ever used one of these?

I played with one today at work, it's my co workers and he's selling it for $80. i think i'll pick it up it was alot of fun. It's basically a KAOSS pad built into this unique X&Y axis photocell thingy.

CAUTION BAD TECHNO!!!!!!!!

Yeah the KAOSS line is much better, more precise and useful and easier to use. I have a Mini KP. I just think this would be alot of fun , and since i like on the fly improve type things, this would be fun as well.

It looks like there is probably a way to learn how it reacts and use it effectively live.

Oh hell yeah! I wanna get one and make some Daft Punk Around The Worldish musak.

HAHAHA its funny just watching the guy demo it. He's all getting into it, I can imagine him bobbing his shoulders and all

How much do these go for? They remind me of a cross between the ZVEX Wah Probe and the ReacTable.

Shit, after seeing that guitar with the built in airfx.......

I kinda want to do that to one of these

Gut the speaker and put the airfx in its place.
throw a lil 59 or something in there too while I'm at it. It would be a BAD ASS project potentially costing less than $200

i have one but i'm still trying to find a power supply for mine, the seller didn't include one, i've tried a radioshack one with no luck, and i've contacted alesis, but no answer yet.

i also want boomerang to release the new boomerang III looper. mini kaoss pad + airfx + looper = crazy combo.

other things to mention, i hear it does cause a bit of a volume drop. personally, i snagged a beat up SX sjm, i'm just going to put a fender strat hardtail on it, and use the trem cavity to mount a bracket system to hold a metal plate with velcro. that way i can swap an airfx on it, or kaoss pad, or any other effet. plus its much easier then cutting up the whole guitar. I might also look around for a volume booster to throw in the pickguard instead of the tone knob to counter the volume drop.

wanye coyne from the flaming lips has an airFX built into his acoustic guitar, where the sound hole is. i havent seen one for ages, there was two or three different air products, i think one of them was delay and another filters/wahs.

you should also check out the korg kaossilator, its the same size as the kaoss pad but you can do a lot of really weird things with it. and if you are really bored, you can run your ipod through it, and remix songs from your ipod

also look for the Behringer DFX69, its 90 bucks on ebay, and if you had a looper, you can add all kinds of stuff on top of it, plus it has a rotary expression knob, so you could use it with your foot if you felt so compelled. its ugly as shit though.
