Getting head

Post by tribi9 »

I just hit that tempting "Buy it now" yet again...
Never had a head b4, just combos...

Thought the price was good..

Ebay should remove that option :x

Does it matter which output you use for the Speaker cab? "Speaker" or "Ext Speaker"?

I'd imagine (I'M COMPLETELY UNEDUCATED AND MAKING THIS UP) that the Speaker output is for a Fender Speaker that usually accompanies it, and so is probably four ohm, and the External Speaker is for a a different type speaker, like, an eight ohm one or something.

Either that, or someone has made this head out of a combo.

Bandmasters are normally heads.

The speaker jacks are connected in parallel, so they're essentially interchangeable. It's funny that they should refer to one as "External" when all speakers are going to be "external" to the head.

Maybe EXT means "extension" rather than "external." That makes more sense, I guess.

that price seems a little high for a modded bandmaster. looks like they tried to turn it into a showman or something.
anyway, bandmasters are great amps. i'm thrilled with mine. when paired with my jaguar, it sounds amazing.

Why do u think it has been modded? The only mod might be that Tube protector other than than the seller states all original parts so if they're not I can always file a complain.

in response to your edit, this is what the back of a blackface bandmaster should look like:

also, i wouldn't really consider it a mod, but that grille cloth is not even close to being original.

i think even a modded blackface bandmaster is worth 525.

for sure, the grile clothe is sketchy, the grain is going the wrong way , and it is all warpy, the stock ones never loooked like that.

the seller is sketchy, you can't claim all original parts if you have wrong knobs, wrong back plate, wrong grille cloth , etc.

but it is the bidder's responsibility to check all of this before bidding.

it is silly to think you can negotiate the price after you buy it (?) what? that is not how it works.

Maybe he meant "all original, in parts" or "some parts all original"
