i just recived this in the mail, but im at work so i cant plug it in yet.
its so friggin small, 22.5 inch scale ,the frets are pretty worn and its been refined, looks like the original colour was daphne blue? you can see it in the neck pocket
but its a decent refin so i dont know weather or not to leave it
i also am thinking about making a new guard and putting a bridge pickup in it

yeh i think i got it at a good price, the us dollar is about 92 cents to aussie dollar, im gonna leave the paint ive never been a fan of fiesta red, but i actually quite like it, and my jagstang is blue, so ill stick with the red.
i still dont know if i should put at bridge pup in it, because i dont want the switches up the top like a mustang, but theres no where else to put them. and id rather just a 3 way(i dont really want the in/out phase settings)
id make a new guard, but i dont have tools for it,and im not hacking up the one on there.
any suggestions?
also for the bridge pickup?

ive decided im just going to leave it as it is ,it looks good and sounds awesome.
yeh i dont think the guy i got it from routed it,he may have, but the thing is theres a small bit on the left of the route that was left for the pickguard screw, which is hell wierd, because i dont think a humbucker would fit in there still, maybe a p90 at some point in its life ?

diggin up an old thread
i just got this 66 mustang neck, and its awesome.
its so worn and the laquer is cracked like my mm2 neck but even more, its got a lot more wear, but the frets are in better condition than the musicmaster neck, looks all original including the white tip F tuners.
i put it onto my musicmaster to check the neck and it plays great, just fits straight in and screw hole line up perfect.ive take it off again though as im goin to try build a vintage stang.
now being in australia doesnt help with getting vintage parts, the next thing i want to get is a body, preferable a 66 also or close.
is the US ebay my best bet? i dont care if its been refinned, or partially routed for humbucker etc.
any help appreciated

It's a shame you don't know how to string up such a nice neck.
