no that's a heavily modified musicmaster. if the neck really has a '72 date stamp then it's unoriginal to the body, which is from the late '70s.
and that decal is totally fake.

Oh gosh. The only thing good on that guitar is the neck and the case. (maybe the bridge)
its a 76' (or later) musicmaster that some dumbass put a bridge pickup in. it says he fucked up the bridge pickup route on it when he made it. im pretty sure that bronco's and musicmasters of this eara weren't pre cut with double routes like the 60's MM's were...so this dude had to start from scratch and fucked it all up sanding thru the guitar. it also looks like he added an extra toggley in there too next to the knobs n shit. im scared to see what this thing looks like under the pickguard.
76's MM's came with pickguards that looked like bronco pickguards though...so odds are its not a bronco pickguard.
the neck is a mess as far as telling exactly what it is. it could be off of any shortscale guitar made from 72' with a early 60's decal on it

this post made me realize a little bit that dating modern fenders in the future based on standard things like headstock decals is going to be impossible. fender makes strat's with all kinds of variations right now.
