What did fender add a fret which shifted the neck so the made the body alder instead of hardwood ply? Gave it better tuners & a multiply guard & electronic then rebranded it. yeap your right !! oops forgot they added the skunk stripe on back of neck to throw us off as well .James wrote:
The one in the thread is nothing but a re-branded strat mini.

No, honestly, I find it hard to understand your typing. Try punctuation.FLICKOFLASH wrote:What did fender add a fret which shifted the neck so the made the body alder instead of hardwood ply? Git tae fuck. It's a new version of the mini strat and you know it. Visually it's pretty much the same, so what if it has a skunk stripe.FLICKOFLASH wrote:What did fender add a fret which shifted the neck so the made the body alder instead of hardwood ply? Everything about the guitar is made different. In fact the Strat JR has been discontinued & was make in 2004 in mexico & the Squire is made in Indonesia.James wrote:Git tae fuck. ok, so you add ~$50 of extra better electronics and maybe maybe $100 worth of better wood. that hardly makes up for the $200 difference in price.

$25 for tuner upgrade & 25 for bridge with string thru body upgrade. I will let you know how the Strat JR holds up to the Squire when it arrives. The JR cost me only 103.00 on ebay & is why I jumped on it as I have seen most going into the 400.00 range.Mo Rocca wrote:ok, so you add ~$50 of extra better electronics and maybe maybe $100 worth of better wood. that hardly makes up for the $200 difference in price.

I was trying to find a picture of that. I'm pretty sure that was in the 2001 or 2002 Frontline. Along with a Telecaster Junior.benwalker wrote:sooooooo....... no-one remembers the Strat-o-sonic then?
discontinued at musicians' friend

They did a few of them: Strat-o-sonics were single P90, double P90, or 2x Humbuckers - all in Cherry/TV Yellow/Sunburst. Pretty rare now
Custom-shop (I believe..) did a Tele Junior - which was basically the same thing but better built and tele-shaped.
Was also a Tele-sonic model that was a Gibson style 2 x Vol/Tone layout, cherry red with two DeArmond pickups and a junior-style pickguard.
