help me fix my rat

Post by deadonkey »

I didn't use it for a few months and now it don't work right

it's had the Dewg rat mod where you clip one resistor.

now when i switch it on, the signal stays the same, there's no distortion at all. the volume and filter controls act like the volume and tone controls on a guitar, but there's no dirt, nothing.

I know some of youse guys are very familiar with the rat circuit so maybe you could halp me get my pedal back.

cheers. I've taken a look inside and it all looks normal, minus the removed resistor.

Fried OP amp, or possibly a crappy connection to the distortion pot?

On a side note, the RAT2 is back on the board, I didn't like the Doubledrive live as my main distortion, just a bit too smooth and middy.

LONG LIVE THA RODENTS!

the distortion pot seems fine, and isn't shorted out, it reads normally on the meter.

Yeah, it's the black chip thing to the best of my knowledge, which is spurious at best.
