If my George W money comes through, I might check this Deluxe Reverb out....
Seem like a good deal?

S'funny. A silverface Twin weighs a pound less than a Vox AC30. Twelve pounds less than an Ampeg SVT tube head.
I have never yet crossed paths with an "AC30's are too heavy" meme on the internetz. And bassists never complain about anything anyway, so there's not a peep about the Ampeg.
I've moved all three around gig-to-gig, -with- a questionable back, no problem. You just figure out how to move 'em safely and then you move 'em safely.
The safest way is to get the drummer to do it. You load his drums and then disappear into the men's room or "see about the money" or some such.
Check the underside of your Twin for snap-in caster sockets. Ernie Ball snap-in casters fit 'em. Or get your drill fired up and fit some sockets yourself.

You are four 5/8-inch holes away from the Total Twin Experience.RumorsOFsurF wrote:No sockets on mine. I checked when I bought it. Also, I think I read somewhere that they started installing them in the mid 70's. Mine's a '71, so no casters.
My little dolly-apparatus works okay I suppose.

Fender Twin Reverb With Pop-In Casters (tm) -- the little amp that goes everywhere with you!
The thing I've learned about 12" speakers, is that while it may not be as full as a 2-12", it really does cut through like a laser. It's incredible.RumorsOFsurF wrote:The single 12 is the only thing I'm concerned about....I'm just not sure it's enough speaker.
Deluxe Reverbs have been known to cut through the mix. Whether or not you're looking to keep your clean headroom is another story, but it's a great sounding amp, and if breakup is your thing, you can't go wrong.
