I'd have to disagree. A good amp is easy to come by, but a truly great guitar is a work of art. Of course, without a good amp, an electric guitar is nearly worthless. So, yeah...I guess.

Amp is far more important. You can make any POS guitar sound good with a quality amplifier. The same cannot be said in reverse.
