when did they introduce the f-keys
i thought that the villager was introduced in the cbs era, and all of them that i have seen feature f-keys or tuner holes that are f-keys.
but i found this villager that has kluson style keys.
i know i have seen some 65's with both, but i think by about mid 66 all tuners were f-keys, can anyone verify this?

this is true, for a while during '66 they were drilling for both F tuner holes and Kluson's, my Oct 66 jazzmaster neck is drilled for both but the f tuner holes have never had screws in them

Agh, I hate the idea of that, the idiots. Though I suppose it's good/handy if you'd rather have one over the other.Mr Mustache wrote:bubbles_horwitz wrote:i think that by '67 you'll see "f" tuners almost exclusively. in '65 and '66 they used both "f" and kluson styles with no real consistency.
