Totally is though. I was trying to plaly some mad doom/thrash/Lightning Bolt music earlier and it totally couldn't manage it. Imagine that on the TT.

Fucking shite amp.

Anyone in this forum own one? or played one? I play pretty loud, noisy music and i need an amp that
will be relatively reliable.
Good if you like to RAWK.

Not good if you like cleans, twang or treble.
I like cleans and I like the TT - just hasn't got the most headroom ever. AS for twang, my tele's never sounded better!

I'm just sayin, for the same price there's so many more options. Used 5150, Peavey Windsor (like a jcm800), Bassman 10, Blues Deluxe, Classic 30, Delta Blues, Ampeg VL1002, tons of shit for around $500.

Blackheart Handsome Devil looks more interesting to me:

More controls than the TT and way cheaper ($299).

Its cool all these manufactures coming out with these low watt tube amps for low ££- its a great time to be a guitarist.

Sorry if this has been noted before.....but does that Blackheart head say "CRATE" in the bottom right corner. I didn't know it was a subsidiary. Not to turn up my nose at Crate stuff, but I haven't been impressed by one of their amps to date. Never say never though.

Yes they're a cheaper Crate line, designed to appeal to metallerz and emos.

Personally i dont care what past Crate lines are like, cos these are brand new developements and look pretty damn cool.

BlackHeart IS in fact a Crate subsidiary. I guess Crate products leave a bad taste in alot of people's mouth, so they've shrouded these things in emo, built a website that bleeds indy/startup/boutique cred and present the crate logo like fine print on a bad cellphone contract.

To be honest though I tried a BH15H trough the branded cab and it wasn't bad at all. I still refuse to buy one though cause I don't want to find out more bad news, after I get it home.

I've heard clips and I just don't like them. The distort in a not nice way, like the Valve Jnr does, up the gain and you get a nasty flub on the bass and things get undefined in the mids - it's more of an old school fuzz/overdrive sound. Not a fan. Give me the TT and it's Vox/Marshallesque breakup and overdrive any day.

thats what i was thinking, if im already going to spend 500 + dollars i might as well buy a bassman,
maybe a music man. i just need a really solid amp that wont melt at higher volumes.

I remember amp shopping a year or so ago, and the salesman stated that the Palomino amplifiers were designed without the Crate logo in full view (if at all shown on the amp) because of Crate's reputation. But, from what I've heard, the Palomino amps aren't bad. Never tried a Blackheart though...
