Get the LP Junior, especially if it plays good.

You got the Fender bases covered.

That black musicmaster looked rad! But yeah.....just hold out and get a vintage MM or something in the $500 range. You can play it, cause it's not crazy expensive vintage, but it's also going to appreciate in value, have "mojo", and probably sound and play awesome!

That's too expensive for a musicmaster bass unless their value just went up a lot. I got a really good deal on mine for $300 with the original hardshell case, and both are in excellent condition for a 30 year old bass and case, but still... it probably only would have sold for about $500 tops I would say.

I haven't posted for a year, once I get pics I'll update my shit.

Anyway, I got one of those things finally, and was atounded by how shitty it was. I mean, I love budget guitars, I've never paid over $200 for a guitar, and I always mod them, but this was abominable.

The neck is 25.5, but the pocket/holes don't line up with normal Fenders and copies. Fuck! The neck was all right, but the headstock is wack and the tuners were atrocious.

The bridge is trash; loose and weak/malleable metal. The actual tailpiece and trem is all right though.

The pickups were all right, but p-90's aren't my bag.

Anyway, I put a great maple Squier II Strat neck on it after drilling new holes in the pocket ($129, w/e), put a real Jag bridge on it, and put American Jag pups in it, and it's my new favorite guitar. Although the tuners and bridge were garbage, the body is alder and it comes with a decent jag/jazz trem, so I have a functional Jaguar for what ended up costing me $250.

ive had this other idea kicking around inside my head for awhile too. I bought this black affinitti jazz bass off of robOG for my birthday and taught myself some songs on it but i just cant fret pinky/index shit at all on it with my pussy hands.

so I take it into the shop and trade it in for a red bronco bass. send the neck to have rob give it the laquer job and make a red pickguard for it. get a basslines 51 Pbass Q/P for it and have a roseland bass for like 200 bucks tops for everything.

Yeah no shit. Squire has defiantly gotten better since I had one (I dont think of the first Jagmasters as Squires)
Mine is in pieces somewhere, my moms house i think. I cracked it at the wall this one time being sick of the sharp frets and the wood looked liked plywood. Seriously. It was light black in color as the body was black and had very thick paint.

THE LAST FUCKING THING I'D DO IS A BUY A FUCKING SQUIER GUITAR.

Buy yourself something cuhrayzeeeee sexy that you couldn't get UNLESS you had 900 spare bones.
