Fender acoustic (vintage?)

Post by mellowlogic »

Hey guys,

I saw this sweet looking acoustic on craigslist. I'm unable to figure out the year and country of origin. I know these were produced in the 60's, but there were also korean RI's in the 80's and 90's. The serial number is D83xxxxxx. Does anyone have any info about numbers in this range? I looked at a few sites regarding serial no. and Dxxx points to vintage jazz-basses which seems really weird to me. Also, if anyone has any other experiences or info on these guitars I'd love to hear it. I might still consider buying it if it is Korean, the price is pretty low and it looks unique.

I'm gonna say that the one in the craig's list ad is a new one. Vintage ones didn't have set necks. They had electric styled necks. Much like my Coronado.

Hmm cool. Thanks for the info Cow. If it's a new one, do you think it's worth the price? I have no experience with fender acoustics, let alone Korean models.

I don't know about prices. That other link had one for $150. It's not a bad deal for an acoustic and it looks kewl. SHould read up on reviews before jumping.

Yeah, that 150 one is in MN. It's worth the extra 50 to me to be able to play it first, and not have to worry about shipping (local pickup ftw).

I haven't been able to find much in the way of reviews. One was an inexperienced guy that said it seemed nice. The other was a review of one from the 60's.

thats from the early 80's, thats not really a good price, you get a malibu which has way better tuners and wood(plus the ginish is tits mcgee)
for like 200 bucks all day long on ebay.
don't get that guitar, its not worth it, the tuners will be shite, garenteed.
