What Should I Spend my Birthday Money On?

Post by Bacchus »

Okay, I had some sort of party yoke last night involving friends, relatives, and lots of cards for me.

The upshot if this is that I'm better off to the sum of about two hundred quid.

For the last while I've been itching to buy something, but have been far, far too poor.

I have a long time to decide what to spend this on: I am currently on a fair amount of debt, and don't feel comfortable spending money whilst I owe other people money, and I don't think it would be right to spend gift money paying off debt. I think I'll probably save a little more money so that my budget is about three hundred, might stretch furthur.

I fancy something quite single-coily and snappy, possibly a tele. Here is what I'm thinking:

Some sort of Squier Tele: This would probably need to be a rather nice (read: Japanese) example, in order to compete with the more expensive gutiars that I'm considering.

Baja Tele: I love these guitars, and want one really bad. This is probably the favourite, but will need a little bit more saving.

Other Things: Peavey Delta Blues (for gigging with, the Marshall's a bit of a nuisance to move about, my girlfriend having a fairly small car), J. Mascis Jazzy, Some sort of resonator guitar, Some sort of Vista series Squier.

Any suggestions, thoughts?

To be honest, I'll probably go for the baja tele, and I know I'll not regret that, but I'm open to suggestions. It's been a long time since I've been able to entertain the idea of buying something, so I'm kind of enjoying having a look at the market at the minute.

You know what to do. Save money for the guitar you know that you'll like.
