i'm surprised you didn't know that, dave. the bodies are very different.
I know they are different. I've compaired them, template to template. There are overall differences in the shape a bit, but I didn't notice anything different in the horn. But then again, I'm not a Jazzy/Jag guy. I'm a swinger kinda guy.

well, the jazzmaster and jaguar are faithful in that they have the difference in the upper horn. so their routing is probably specific as well.
oh shit. i just meant the HH and the single coil Jags. i should've clarified.

Never have I seen so much grown man crying, about absolutely NOTHING. These things haven't even come out. That being said the cooler members, who I always thought were cool, if they dig the new line or not weren't all whiney about it. There are some others there acting like their whole world got crushed.
I think people would be happier if it was just some other lesser known company were producing these in a factory in Indonesia or China because that sort of thing happens all the time. I love these MIMs. I'm tempted to sell something off to reason a go at a HH Jag.

I know the Thin Skin Jags and Jazz's are going to be available in LPB with matching headstock this year. Are you talking about these or something else?

everyone's clamoring for the blonde, gold-guarded ones. i'm hoping there'll be no rush for the blue ones and i'll have time to save up and buy one.
of course, now that i've posted this, everyone's gonna go buy one just to spite me.

I too would love to have a Lake Placid Blue Jazzmaster, but I was really hoping they were going to do Sherwood Green. That would have been the only color I would have overlooked the 9.5" radius for.

Indeed.

Jaguars are way smaller and the upper horn is very different.

Yeah, I posted about that earlier in this thread. Those twats are crying baby tears over a cool new move by Fender. Wankers.

The worst posts are the ones annoyed that they think it will make the designs more popular so they won't be all unique and exclusive in their gay little club. Pathetic, a feeling of exclusivity from the masses is no reason to play a guitar.

I've taken to just fucking those threads up, and calling peoples moms ugly in an act of absurdist justice.

Let's work out how much it will probably cost for a Jazzmaster in the UK (for Doog's sake).

If we take a current MIM Classic Player series guitar sold in the US and the UK, the '72 Telecaster Deluxe Reissue, it retails for $699.99 from Musicians Friend in it's cheapest colour (black).

Using xe.com $699.99 = £355.54

The Deluxe can be got in England for £478, so we're getting a 34% Markup on the exact conversion which I presume is justified by shipping and custom's charges.

So if we take Doog's favoured black Jazzmaster as an example - it will retail for $799.99 from Musicians Friend.

Using xe.com $799.99 = £406.35

Add the 34% markup and we get a final sale price of around £544.

Graaaah. My CIJ was like £475 brand spankin' new.

I wish I didn't have a girlfriend or impending education sometimes.

Truth be told, I only want it for the color scheme (not that the new features bother me), I may as well just get Rob to make me a body and finish it blerachk.

Yeah, that might be the way to go to be honest.

It's a shame it worked out that expensive, I was getting vicariously excited for you.
