Replacement PU"s in Squier Super Sonic

Post by Jacco428 »

Hi,

I've bought a Squier Super Sonic (blue sparkle) off eBay, so I thought this would be a good moment to join this forum !

Are there any Super sonic owners out here? if so, what kind of PU's are you using in it ?
Mine came loaded with SD 59' in the neck and a SD JB in the bridge. sounds pretty good, but I'm always in favour of P90's.
Does someone use P90's in their Super Sonic ?

P-90s are great in everything. Duncan makes thier Phat Cat which is a P-90 that is humbucker sized. Sounds amazing. Guitar Fetish also makes Humbucker sized P-90 that pretty much equally as good.

Are you the Cat that payed 700 for the Super Sonic?

Looks nice but White Pickups would be far superior.

I agree. This guitar need white pickups and white knobs and switch cover. That's just what I had. I think this is going to go on eBay in the next few days anyways. Someday, I want to build a Super Sonic with some other type of Trem other then the strat trem. On THAT guitar, I would do up better.

Thanks man! I like it too. I've been wanting one for a long time. I just don't need that many guitars.

Two t's in hottest, champ.

I've always said I love that guitar, it's perfect. I imagine should you ever sell it (and I doubt you will knowing all the blood, sweat, tears and love that went into making it) that there would be a straight up bidding war on shortscale.org for it. It's a peach.

What's the neck from? Is it a custom made one? I understand the SS has a funny neck joint.

I scratch built the entire guitar. So you won't find another one like it anywhere.
