NOT a guitar project(tasteful nudity)

Post by robert(original) »

so for the last 6 days staight i have been building a life size frame for tracys final project.
this will bore alot of you, but for fucksake, it was really fucking hard to make a frame for 15 peices of 11x14 inch glass.
anywho.
pics now, explanations later(we JUST got this done about an hour ago, its 6 a.m. and it has to be presented at 10)
Image

Image
Image
its a somewhat politcal piece featureing a naked friend of ours holding a gun and wearing my respirator, notice the ankle bracelet(she was on house arrest)
subing glass in a pain in my ass!
Image
originally it was going to be make of steal, but the stained glass fuckers neglected to tell us about the 750 degree torch they were going to be using until monday(fuckers!)
so i had to come up with a sturdy frame to hold all this glass and protect it at the saeme time.
Image
it got designed and re-designed a few times in the last couple of days(more explanation later)
but its a fucking miracle that i (we) were able to pull it out of our ass in time.
i left out ALOT of pictures,
i pretty much took pictures just to prove to tim(proffessor) that shit was getting done, and if something happened to it i had proof that we did it.
here it is completed, it was nerve wtacking to hold this thing up for the first time.
Image
here you can sort of see the image,(it will have a light behind it in the gallery)

Looks like a mix of photographs and painted glass. Yes? The figure is an anti-christ of sorts, since she is female, in a "stained glass" in the shape of the cross. The title could even refer to stain or shroud--although Jesus is clearly defending his twigs and berries!

Very nice work by both of you. Much of art is logistics and engineering.

dgner8, you are fucking smart man, thats pretty damn close.
its liquid light on glass, its just unflavored jello mix poured onto glass, then its coated with liquid light, then it is exopsed to the image, then it goes thru a few baths, dries and
WALLA!
ive got about 40 pieces of glass that were fuck ups laying around so if anyone wants some glass, hit me up!
we slept in ALOT! but we are about to try and load it into my car, this is going to be scar as hell!

I dragged out the old acrylic paints this weekend and slapped down a few canvases. Painting guitars made me remember teh joys.

ok so, originally, black glass, black sides, black top, i figured maple would look cool, kind like white wall tires from a badass bike,
well tim the proffessor decided that we needed to stain it.
i hate stain, it always looks like shit, i told him i thought it would look bad and he got defensive and said some shit like
"if you do it right it will look right! if you do it wrong it will look bad!"
so we got stain, and stained the mother fucker.
Image
that was on saturday,
then on sunday he decides to call us up and tell us that the stain looks bad (toldya!)
so we had to drive back up(hour and change drive)
pick up some black paint and put it to the test, im happy with the way it turned out, tracy is never happy, but thats too bad, today was the first day the gallery was open.
Image
Image
sorry the pic is blurry, it was so dark in there that the camera took like 25 seconds to take a pic, and i couldn't really use a flash.
here is one of tracy finishing up some of the light spots on it.
Image
if anyone is interested it is for sale, i would not ever pay the amount that we want for it but i hope some fuck ass yuppy guys it!
