that jagmaster is beautiful. another phat cat in the neck and it would be perfect (cosmetically at least)

I'd probably do a project like that (also add a maple neck) if i had the motivation and £££.

i was thinking of getting a silver sparkle jagmaster too,
make a mirror scratchplate for it and put some silver p90's in, just make it look abit over the top and glam.
sweet.
itd look alot better if it had a matching headstock.

the Alba tele just arrived!

I've opened the box and guess -its proper silver sparkle! the flakes are smaller than on the jagmaster, but it sparkles nontheless :D :D :D

Initial impressions, looks beautiful, few scratches but meh. off for a quick play.

first impressions - wow, why did i never own a tele before? both pickups sound great clean or distortioned via turbo rat. i cant believe how clear distorted chords sound!

the neck on this is massive though - like les paul massive. and the strings are completely dead - covered in dirt/smoke ash. need to re-string and set it up properly before playing it more.

what are the best strings for a tele? i'll probably stick on 10s.

ok managed to snag a new 6-saddle tele bridge off ebay for a bargain-ous £4 inc P&P. may have to drill holes in it though, as the tele is string through body design.

now thinking about replacing the neck - this one is just too huge and the headstock is oversized, which makes the guitar unbalanced. i guess any strat or tele neck will fit, but all the ones i see selling on ebay go for almost as much as i paid for the guitar (£33).

it actually works out cheaper to buy a squier strat or yamaha pacifica 012 than to buy a squier tele neck!

what? why? the 3 saddle bridge is better. more tele sounding.

I don't understand... oh wait, this guitar is not string through? oh, wierd... yeah, maybe you should fix that. you'll need the ferrules that go on the back though. also, it's kinda tricky getting the holes to go straight through if you don't have a drill press.

hmmm, tele necks are supposed to be somewhat chunky, that's one of the good things about them. I think strat necks might fit but there will be a gap because they are curved at the bottom.

well, If I had this guitar I think I would leave it how it is except maybe changing out a pickup or two if it needed it.

Cant you really hear the difference between a 3 and 6 saddle bridge? i doubt it. but you will be able to hear strings that are out of tune - correct intonation is important to me.

No, the guitar IS a string through, but the new bridge i bought hasnt got holes to accomodate the strings going into the body. i'll have to drill holes in the new bridge.

I quite like the chunky neck - Problem is thr guitar is really neck heavy. its difficult to play on a stap. i just need a lighter neck and smaller tele-style headstock.
