i cut out a acrylic mirror pickguard for my 95' jazzmaster, whatd you think??

i basicly did it because the tortoise pickguard didnt fit in with the band but i still think it looks pretty neat.

You got there before I did. Definitely the most retarded thing I've read in some time.

Congratulations - your Scene rating is through the roof.

Phil Lynott.

Looks good sean, a bit of individuality on an instrument is always good.

If the Beatles wore white suits with spangly silver lapels you might have a point.

That probably looks better than that cheesy tort Fender uses. I say nice, i don't know about the mirror part. I personally like the clear Plexi sprayed to color underneath.

Nothing wrong with having a themed band. Every year for Battle of the Bands, our band (the Science band (we represent the science department)) always plays in identical "uniform", this year we wore bright purple braces and ties, the rest was black and all our guitars and instruments were either black or purple also. It's fun, because we don't have the intention to "look cool", but more to give a memorable impression over the other bands and generally make the whole experience more fun than turning up in our jeans and tees.

I think it looks awesome, and I can imagine you're doing the same sort of thing I described above. Any pictures of the band by the way, sounds really cool.

exactly, youre on stage to entertain, not just look like some boring bastards who just walked in off the street. why not be abit different.

we dont really have any band photos at the moment, we just wear black and white stuff with the odd grey/silver thing here or there.

Damn right. That is the ultimate statement, music is within the entertainment industry. But unfortunately we (musicians) are a bunch of snobbish pretentious bastards that bitch about gear and dribble at whats cool and sneer at whats not. Dont get offended sean, its all a matter of taste.

mirror /= silver.

silver on a guitar looks cool. mirrored guitars just reflect whatever shines onto them - so onstage it'll be a flashing mishmash of colours and lights. yeh i think it looks awesome in your photos, but on stage not sure - Matt Bellamys mirrored guitar didnt look that hot.

It's cool because it looks like chrome from here. And blinding people from onstage is always cool.

Who really cares whether you're doing something to blend in with a scene/not blend in with a scene/in a desperate attempt to do neither, in the grand scheme of things people have done more retarded things to guitars for "better" reasons, and vice versa. It looks cool nonetheless.
