Draining caps?

Post by tribi9 »

Are there any videos of anybody draining the caps on an amp? I read a tutorial, but wouldn't mind seeing a video tutorial, if there's one out there somewhere. Maybe Mike can be a nice guy and shoot one?

Here's a list of the possible answers, that I might get from Mike...

1. If you don't know what you're doing, then stay the fuck away from the inside of an amp.
2. Shoot a video? I'm gonna fucking shoot you head off, fuckin retard.
3. If you really want to learn then, maybe I will.
4.(Total silence)
5. Google it.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated,

Peace :)

I attach one end of a meter lead to chassis ground and discharge the caps by touching the probe to the filter cap wires. Works for me... others will tell you to plug the amp in first, and do the same thing with the power switch off to discharge the caps through earth ground.
