anyone have any epi lp jrs?
killer find on an epi lp special (2 pick ups, bolt on neck slap top... gay tear drop burst)... heaviliy considering it and making it a jr with a diff bridge pick up.... anyone have any and how do they feel, play, sound... i just hope its not the plywood one.
I have a solid black one that a friend gave me to screw around with.
I was considering making it a junior with a cool pickup in the bridge and a neat pickguard.
Stock, the guitar is pretty "meh". I have no desire to play it and the neck isn't really anything special.
You should try it first, and if it feels good, grab it and mod it like crazy.

my first guitar was an epi lp special. the pickups are super fucking muddy. not that much of a big deal though as the universe is littered with humbucker sized pickups to swap them out with. it is made of plywood. it is some kind of mahogany plywood I think. really doesn't sound that bad though. it doesn't make things sound all midrangey like 60s teiscos that are made out of plywood. it's definitely a warmer sounding guitar.
I've always thought the jr. special is a good deal and you could put a cool pickup in it and it would be a pretty awesome cheap guitar.

Yeah, they will charge you.
As far as shipping, it would seem that it would have to be extremely cheap to be worth buying one of these and having it shipped. They are not that expensive new, and with new you would get free shipping and no tax.

They say great minds think alike....Sometimes we do too...
my first electric was an epi jr. special: bolt-on, one humbucker, blah blah blah. pickup was muddy as hell, but that can be replaced. tuners sucked horribly, and the painted neck was annoying sometimes. the neck itself was nice and chunky. if i'd been willing to put in $80 or so, it would've been a great guitar.
When I die, they'll say, 'He couldn't play shit, but he sure made it sound good!'
