Well hung - wall hangers

Post by NickS »

Spent a happy hour yesterday fixing this up in my son's room as he's back from uni for a few days, post exams, to do some work as a session player (bass) for some mates of his.. There's space for a couple more hangers: actually I have a couple more but they aren't the same as these (the joys of birthday presents).

They look good to me. I love having my guitar on the wall and out of the way, it also encourages me to play it for some reason.

Nice. I have my guitars on the wall too. Is great in a small room, where I couldn't fit them all on stands, to be able to just pick up the guitar you want to play.

I had a few hangers until we moved house, and realised how thin and brittle the walls were when my bass came a-crashing down one evening.

Good jeorb!

hahahahahaha the thread title made me laff alot.
I REALLY want to make a couple of these soon. Everyone in our garage gets pissy cos the guitars take more couch space than their butts do. it makes sense...i guess.

The 30o Stratocaster looks like the one in the shop in Wayne's World.

It was a falling guitar & hanger that prompted a move away from fixings in the plasterboard and onto the plank (fixed into three uprights of the studding).

the angled ones are just big long and strong concrete nails that hold the guitar pressed against the wall by the strap buttons... cheap and nice.

don't know that I will ever "buy" a guitar hook again.
Here is a simple hook from dare I say....Home Despicable...maybe 2.99
slap on a piece of wood or even a longer piece with several hooks
you can router, stain make individual ....whatever you like, but these particular hooks are great

Obviously they can be turned slighly for a Strat like guitar.

Crap turtle, those r adorable! My girl senses are weeping from the awesomeness of that design and I'm fighting to not steal that idea. We have a problem keeping our guitars because we have so many. They'll probably tear down the walls of our future guitar room, but I wanna get a couple of these for safekeeping

Just a few for our more valued guitars [Fredo's vintage serviceman  ]

I'm gonna try to create a guitar stand from PVC piping A La this during the summer.
