thats a really great price. id be all over it but i <3 my ac30.

i have heard nothing but great things about that amp.

i guess channel one is like an ac30 type circuit, and channel two is a marshally sounding circuit. sounds awesome.

Sounds interesting. I wonder how the EL34's compare when set up in an otherwise VOX-y circuit.

Unrelated: in the interest of pseudo-science..... here are the numbers.

Fender Twin Reverb
weight: 69 pounds (reissue = 64 pounds)
number of Google hits for the combined phrases "Fender Twin" and "too heavy": 2,200
Google hits per pound: 31.9 (minimum)

Vox AC50 combo
weight: 78 pounds
number of Google hits for the combined phrases "Vox AC50" and "too heavy": 80
number of Google hits for the combined phrases "Vox AC-50" and "too heavy": 6
Google hits per pound: 1.1

filtercap -

Actually they're quite decent soundin'. I tried one of the head versions they had at Allans Music down 'ere and it had a very Marshall'esque tone to it as you could imagine. A little too modern for my tastes though but I could definitely see some of the guys that have been using Marshalls liking them. (that is if they're not gear snobs and don't mind the fact that it's made in China).

On a side note I myself have sold my AC30CCX and I'm buying an AC15CC combo (no speaker) and tossing up between various 30w AlNiCo models to throw in there.
