Post by evol04gt »

happy with overdrives i have. happy with trem, flanger/phaser, chorus...what am i missing? a good delay/verb pedal? i never really looked into delay but after watching mikes demo of that one "cheap one" that i can only find for 110-140 US dollar, i was blown away.... i couldnt find the behringer people were talking about at all..

i miss my electric mistress...that was rad.

or if there is something yins thing i am missing thats really useful, let me know.

t-rex replica. Awesome delay pedal. Way too expensive, but sounds very analog and warm while still having tap tempo as well as plenty of control options.

I have the Digitech digidelay. you can usually find it used for around $40 on ebay. I think it is by far the best delay in this price range. it is the delay Deerhunter use. they are masters of delay.

dude, seriously...
if you want nice analog delay for cheap get the 80s ibanez pedals. yes the nasty square ones, that is the DC-10 Delay Champ and/or the ADL Delay. same thing in different package. they're basically the same thing as the classic AD-9. WAY underrated and hated - still. but people are "waking up". MIJ and all, you can find them for under $50 on the bay if you're lucky.

the other of my secret weapons is the (don't laugh) 80s Yamaha DD-100 pedal. beat up as hell and ugly. looks cheap, is ALL killer sounds. incredibly versatlile, go from slapback to up to 2 secs (IIRC) delay time. yes it's digital and after the great but shitty DL4 gave in, i swore i'd never touch a digital effect. found it for $10 and never looked back. look it up, it's THE shizzle. it REALLY sounds warm and "analog". (i'll try to record some samples)

but my all-time fav is my old Pearl AD-09, but these have already been "discovered" and are priced +$200 or so...

good luck, but dude, get one of these and i PROMISE you won't regret. rock on!

did used to own an old 80's Ibanez rack-mount delay (DM2000?). totally non-programmable with a strange combination of knobs and buttons to set the time and levels. did have 3 outputs though for some interesting sounds though, and a built-in effects loop...

But the modulated echoes is what makes the DMM so lush.

I do think it's a pedal not without flaws, but definitely the best delay pedal I've ever played. It made me sell delay pedals with longer times and more features. It might hiss, it might have a bit of a learning curve associated with it, but it's musical.
