You might be able to get away without primer and just going straight to several layers of colour.

Whether you want lacquer or not depends how durable you want the finish to be.

Hm.. I think we may have some primer kicking about in the garage.. and I do want it to be shiny and tough, so I guess I should get some lacquer. Goddamn, why does B&Q have to be like a 30 minute walk in the opposite direction to home from here?!

By the way I rewired the 6 way cap selector last night before I went out and aside from one cold solder joint on the selector I need to fix in situ it is done and works great. Going to do a demo this weekend, hopefully.

The bass I was missing on the pin1 selection is because that's the most trebley FAC setting. The left hand of dial has a healthy thump. I like this pedal.

The F.A.C. control stands for Frequency Analyzing Control. It is a mid-range sweep that offers many variations on the Orange sound. Experiment with different settings for a variety of sounds.

Basically finished. Still need to sort out that cold solder joint and do a bit of grounding though I think. Sounds good though. Uploading a short video clip.

I think it might have been tempscale or culled in "the lost time".

Do you want me to repost the pictures in a new thread? Basically they're these probe kits I bought from Tube Town that insert a 1 ohm resistor into teh cathode path so you can measure the cathode current.

Gain and volume are reversed on mine too. I had meant to mentioning that to you but forgot obviously. Cold solder joints are fucking annoying. The solder I have seems to be not good at creating solid joints on the pots as I've discovered after boxing up they two Chunky Cheeses. One of them now has no effect output at all and the other has no mid scoop filter. Which is weird as the switch connections are the same for the tone control.

It really is beefy as shit. I still have some minor tweakage to do. The case doesn't appear to be grounded, so I'm probably going to tag that with a wire to one of the jacks, and I need to fix that joint on the selector, that's what the squeal was. Plus when the back is on things go a bit odd which could be the trims getting moved or the trannies getting kicked around (ho ho ho) but things settle down. it's pretty much there. Good pedal - you'll love it.

Yeah I'm sure I will. I think it could make me sell a Drivemaster. Maybe. Yeah the case isn't grounded because of the Cliff jacks where are the Switchcraft jacks I've used for Doog ground the case and use one few wire.

I have a fair few jacks lying around now because of my Booster building, so I might just bite the bullet and install them. The cliff ones are shit, even if they are "Marshall style"

i'd like to properly bias my bandmaster (and maybe get some new tubes) instead of just turning the pot until it sounds good.

OK, I'll sort this out tomorrow for you. Your technique isn't too bad though, why not use them ears?
