blackheart combo=deadhorse yet?

Post by evol04gt »

so in the trade for some of my redundant pedals i have, i was going to get a superchamp xd... but the dude supposedly cant get his super deal on them anymore..he offered the combo 5 watt blackheart instead.. very tempting.. doing research it says it has an "american voice" open back speaker.. i was hoping to get something with a fender esq clean but yet the marshall esq grind when really cranked. didnt realy want class a, was hoping for footswitchable but its either this amp or the crate v118 with the 2 12 inch speakers....

dude said i can get the half stack, but i would have to give him my flanger pedal...which i do really like.... but the "american voiced" speaker is really entriguing me. my mini marshall stack has 2 closed 10" cabs, so i could always use the combo with a cab.... decisions decisions.... i hope i dont really miss reverb.
lefty.. yeah it sucks!

the new super champs and vibro champs sound terrible. there are no good clean sounds, most of the distortions are cheezy, and the on-board effects are totally lame.

well everywhere else i have been reading has had glorious revues on the blackhearts..... i mean its not like its this or a twin reverb... i mean its jsut for a good tube sound with some tone flexibility.. people love the valve jrs but i preffer some tone adjustments.... ill prob a/b footswitch it with my other amps and what not...

thinking of getting the holy stain pedal to go along with it at some point..that seems to have some good effects on it... same price as the holy grail.......

I'm not really, everything I have heard (not played one myself) the amp has sounded pretty arse. try one yourself, if you like it then get one.

The holystain is horrible though.

I thought it sounded alright - a little light on midrange for my tastes but not bad. Better then most of the solid state amps in the price range. I actually like the look too, but I guess I'm in their target age range.
