they can be expensive, yes. but they're still dirt cheap compared to strats and teles. and even more so compared to certain gibsons.
the vintage jag market is very much a niche market. that was the intent of my original post.
Yeah but pre-CBS Strats, Teles, 50's Les Pauls and Martin D-45's are the blue chips for collectors. So people are going to be looking to other models after those become less available or less attainable financially.

well, fortunately vintage jaguars are still fairly affordable. i got my '62 for well under $2000. sure, it's refinished, but i've even seen original ones go for around that lately.
a few months ago, an all-original sunburst slab board '62 went for $2000. that's only a few hundred more than a reissue.

anyone see the white jag w/ and maple w/ BB neck that was on ebay a couple weeks ago? i usually don't like black block inlays, but with a white guitar, i didn't mind it.
