humbucker...in a single coil size?
Anyone know of a good one? Am I just dreaming?

JbJr is good in the bridge, Lil 59 neck/mids. Also try the ubiquitous Hot/Cool Rails.
Used to have a JB Jr, which is about to go on ebay as part of a loaded pickguard set, once I can get the photos online... Was a good pickup (had it tapped and switched independently of the 5-way on a strat) but ultimately got replaced with some tom anderson 14K Ohm monstertone style things... bit honky in places but good for leads.

wound up getting this
a Symour Duncan SJBJ-1b JB Jr for 35 bucks!
I think I liked that each pole is adjustable
I may get a set of vintage style Stratacaster pickups made by Artec thinking.....
thoughts?
I didn't mind the sjbj in the bridge but what I really missed was the old bridge middle combo

That's just a push/pull knob. That can be done on any 4/5 wire humbucker.Ninja Mike 808 wrote:Shecter makes a system that you can buy (from other companies, too). Basically, the humbucker is turned into a single coil when you pull this new tone knob... knob/ switch combo style... Look around for it.

There are wiring guides available on Seymour Duncan, among other places for doing this on your own guitars. It's an easy mod, because Push/Pull pots can replace your pots on almost any guitar, the only limitation being the depth of the routes (push/pulls are a bit longer under the hood). They're really light to click in and out, and it really doesn't affect your guitar visually and it's almost impossible to accidentally switch it on most guitars, and probably actually impossible to pull out without trying. Don't be fooled into getting any specific "systems" for doing it, it's a funny and easy mod to do and you can easily get more sounds out of any humbucker equipped guitar!Ninja Mike 808 wrote:Good to know!Malik wrote:That's just a push/pull knob. If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus
