Super easy, I highly recommend the product I used, it was odorless and you could even apply it with your bare hands!

Don't know where I am going to get the paint from, but I don't plan doing it myself. Gonna take it to a spray room... Any suggestions with regards to where I should buy the paint from? I do plan on applying a Nitrocellulose lacquer.

What's reranch?
see this is what kind of worried me, you stripped the whole guitar but you haven't even thought about where to get the paint yet. you know that nitro shell pink is not an easy color to find right?

reranch is the site you linked to before that had paint prepping instructions. they also sell spray cans of nitrocellulose laquer in the vintage fender and gibson colors. they only ship to the US though. you'll have to ask some of these irish and UK guys about where to get some paint. good luck.

Is there any reason why it should be nitro?

maybe so he can get the exact color. i imagine it'd be tougher to find shell pink in an aerosol outside of guitar finishing places.

Oh, I already have a re-mailing service, it doesn't matter that they only ship to the U.S.

I stripped it because the body was scratched and dented, and I didn't like it. I am gonna prepare the body perfect, and then take it to get professionally resprayed. I may not even up using an Aerosol paint, I believe a professional painter can mix a color, (maybe with a little flake?) and spray it on in coats then apply a clear nitrocellulose lacquer using an air compressor. So I really don't have to worry about where to get the paint. Also, I want contribute to aerosol contamination as little as possible. So far this project has been fairly environmentally friendly and I'd like to keep it that way if I can.

So I've decided this is guitar is going to be a present to my Dad, so I am building it with him in mind. He's a gigging piano player (does mainly covers), but has played guitar for years. He just started playing this Japanese Fender Telecaster live on a few songs...

When I was a kid he bought this same model Tokai with a tobacco burst finish, it needed a fret job so he sold it on but always regretted it. I think this guitar will be a good thank you for all the guitars he bought me over my life. :-)

you should probably know that nitrocellulose lacquer has huge amounts of vocs and is terrible for the environment. they've been trying to ban it for years here in california.
also, they don't put cfcs in aerosols anymore, so there's little difference between you spraying the paint at home and someone else doing it for you.
