Any places as good as Warmoth?

Painting? Routing? Set-up tips? Or just straight-up making a guitar from scratch? Post here, and post pics!

Any places as good as Warmoth?

Post by Ninja Mike 808 »

Warmoth is great, for the resources and such, I've never seen so many dif. body styles and options. However, they are on the pricey side. A Les Paul bolt on body is just as much as an Epiphone set-neck full guitar...

Any website offer a ridiculous amount of shizzle?

Good to know!
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

all sites i know like warmoth tend to be expensive. your best bet is to find a budding luthier, or someone you know to do it on the side.

The best bet is to buy a Warmoth unfinished neck, find a body on eBay and build the thing yourself. That way, everything is exactly what you want and will be FAR cheeper then a custom guitar. Im doing exactly that right now. I've always wanted a Black and White Nashville Tele with a bigsby. I bought a $157.00 Warmoth neck and a $40.00 body off of eBay. I've got almost everything to complete that guitar.

USA custom guitars seems better than warmoth, i think their bodies are actually fencer spec, so you can use fender pickguards, etc. the jazzy body seems particularly more authentic.

Buy bodies and necks unfinished.
You save half doing it yourself.

2nd USACG, Tommy's one of the good guys. Can't do b&b necks though.
