SHALL I DEW IT?

Post by Fran »

In a quest for irony and a break from the norm i considered buying a TOTAL RAWK AXE beyond hideous proportions.
The options are simple..
1/ Buy a cheapo and customise the paint job
2/ Buy the quality model at a knocked down price (with Floyd Rose) and live with the headstock.

Anyway, my local shop has a £600.00 model "in the back" as they always do. But it needs the Floyd "sorting out" and the neck pup re-wiring. I can dew this. He offers it me 'new, but repairs- as seen' for £150. What shall i do? This is it... LOL

Relic it out, tho??
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

Arr, buy the £150 one, do it up, have a giggle with it, then if needs must, flip it for a tasty profit. Metaller guitars are funny, and we as guitarists are a vain breed; one of my students (from my more geeky, virgin-male-matrix-fans-only course) had brought his guitar in, and I picked it up to have a play on. Now, I had never played anything pointy before: however, the wide, shallow neck was fast as fuck, the action was easy, and the Floyd was such a giggle. But you'll never catch me playing anything that fucking uncool looking.

I do, however, salute your huge cojones that you feel you can carry off a guitar like that.

There was a left handed GS Explorer not advertised as a lefty on eBay. It ended up going for fuck all.

Holy Moses - were you not tempted to have a punt even at £125? Didn't realise you were a southpaw. You've got me looking at GS's now...

Yeah but my budget this month is limited. Plus it is all going on the Mercian rebuild/redux. I didn't realise chrome was so expensive to strip

The left handed one on there now with a reasonable BIN is exactly what I want in a right handed and haven't seen for months

If it was right handed I'd have had no choice but to go for it.
