Well I finally finished my Musicmaster project that I started over a year ago and I thought I would post some pics of the finished product. I went with Surf Green nitro from Reranch with Deft clear. The 1963 body came from feebay. Sixty dollars including shipping. It had been painted at least five different times from what I could tell. The neck is a 1962 that had been drilled for different tuners. I decided to use conversion bushings instead of trying to plug the holes and redrill them. The bridge plate is from 1959. It didn’t have saddles so I bought some tele saddles from Allparts. I had a Jaguar pickup in the parts box so I didn’t have to buy a new pickup. Everything else is aftermarket stuff. I figure I have about $250.00 invested in it if I remember correctly. I’m positive that it’s no more than $300.00. It plays great and it’s one of the first projects I’ve finished that I’m completely happy with.
Next up on the chopping block is a 1983 Fender Bullet. I’m thinking Sonic Blue.

If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus
i'm generally not a fan of matching headstocks on these things, but it really seems to work well on this guitar. good job.
where'd you get that decal? the spacing and font look weird on the "musicmaster" part.
i've got a musicmaster neck with an original decal. i tried taking a picture just now, but my camera sucks and it came out all blurry.
also, the "fender" part is silver on mine.
Looking at it again, pretty much the only thing I don't like about this is the kagillion screws on the pickguard. The clay dots almost look out of place, then you remember that it's a vintage neck and it's going to play awesome so it doesn't matter.
Robroe: The pickguard is from WD Music. If I remember correctly the tuners are from Allparts.
Bubbles: The decal is from geocha over at Reranch. I have the silver version as well but the gold looked the best to me with the surf green.
DuoSonicBoy: I just got through selling a bunch of stuff on ebay. I did actually mean to call it feebay. I think I'm going to keep this one but if I ever decide to sell I'll let you know.
DDDave: The bridge plate is one of the nicest I've seen. Unfortunately the saddles had already been robbed from it. The saddles on it now are Allparts tele saddles.
