i signed up for this thing and tried it out.
the gear you can add is absolutely dreadful. there's little room for custom instruments, mods and the like. plus, it's your tone, why would you want to share?

Soooooo pointless- it's not like every dial on your amp or pedal is a 100000 position rotary switch, nor are you gonna use exact same settings in each environment. If you have trouble remembering your settings, you need to smoke less pot. And/or paintchips.

Is it bad that I like the same exact settings for every piece of hard ware I come across?
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

Totally! My amp only has 4 knobs and I fiddle with it a bit in every room and on every stage! If you want your shit to sound the same every night do like Meshuggah and bring your own PA system and all use PODs. You'll sound bad, but consistently bad.
I recommend learning to properly use your equipment and understanding what each knob really does. That way it's easy and becomes second nature to tweak your stuff for desired effect.
