If I push the knobs down like that, then the jacks shouldn't interfere with them. I won't know until I drill for absolute sure but I'm putting the jacks as low down the back as possible to give them maximum clearance. I have an extra case in case I fuck it up. The board should fit A-OK between the knobs and the footswitches, though like Aen I'm taking a "DC jack only" approach as I go forward with designs now. Save the Cheerleader, Save the World.
yeahfuck battery's anyway. cheers for the hard graft mike.Mike wrote:If I push the knobs down like that, then the jacks shouldn't interfere with them. can has blue and green? green for octave blue for on.Mike wrote:Blue I can do. Do you not want a different one for ON and a different one for Octave?
Like Blue and Green
or Blue and Orange/Red?
What colour do you want the pedal? I don't have enough of any paint now after doing Malik's pedal and my homemade SHO so you might aswell choose a colour that you like.
not had a chance to get to halfords yet...would a metallic blue be a pain?

Metallic Blue is doable, it would be awesome if you could give me an exact colour to go for, otherwise I'll have to just grab one. Dark, Medium or Light Blue?

Nice one pal! so excited I may just wee.Mike wrote:So like a GreenyBlue Metallic? I'll see what I can do mate. I plan to drill your case on Monday.
Either tonight or tomorrow I will hopefully get the values for the tone stack sorted.
After that and the case is done I should be able to finish hopefully sometime next week if everything goes smoothly.

Had a play with this after building Malik's Booster.
Made the gain sweepable and the octave switchable and replaced the current tone control with a bass and treble control.
Pretty much ready to continue and finish the veroboard, and then test it. Will do tomorrow if I get a chance, I'll be tidying the house and doing my washing most of the day, I imagine.

Settled on a Classic Fender tone stack for the Bass and Treble controls with a fixed mid control.

Finished the Stripboard and it's working and sounding good. The vintage transistors in there mean we don't get such crushing loud volume in regular non octave mode but it's still above unity. I'll include some 2n5088s if you want to experiment with them also.

Never mind what I said about the output volume in non Octave mode actually, I've figured out a way to raise the gain of the output amplifier stage. I breadboarded it up and added an emitter bypass cap which you can do to increase the gain of this type of bipolar transistor amplifier - it worked a charm. I'll solder one into the stripboard and we'll have volume to burn. Nice.
Getting really excited about you having this pedal now.
