Fucking £224.99 in the UK, I could get a MIM Fender Telecaster for £229! :x Fuck you, Gordon Brown!

P.S. Anyone got the specs for that Telecaster neck? It doesn't look like the usual 'C' shape to me.

That's a good idea actually, if you dodge customs you'll have a sodding steal.

Are you buying that Musicmaster from Sublimedo by the way? I just can't afford it, regardless how well it was priced to the Shortscale crew.

Yes I bought that bigstyle. I've been after one of those musicmasters for ages, especially an unmodified one, because I've got a vista musicmaster neck on my Duo-type guitar and it's great.

Unfortunately, due to harsh new one-in, one-out legislation I've got to lose this silver hagstrat.

I love that Musicmaster but it was the guitar that we really didnt play. Like at all. Mostly due to our excess. Bit of shame cos it really is an awesome guitar. and most of all, it's CUTE!

Wicked. I'm glad it went to a fellow shortscaler.

Both of the squiers are better then the MIM. Go for whichever one looks best to you; they're both great.

Get the squier vintage vibe. It's a 50's classic tele made in china. Frankly, Im a little miffed I bought the $630 MIM version a couple years back. I could have scored some other cool shit and waited for the Squier.

I'm now almost 100% certain thats what I'll do. As tempted as I am to spend the extra 100$ and get a MIM standard, from what I've played and from what you guys are telling me, I should get Classic Vibe and save the 100 bucks to spend on pickups....

yo man, the pickups in the classic vibe are better than in a MIM. MIMs have ceramic pickups. classic vibe are alnico 3. it's pretty much awesome straight out of the box.

Not to derail, but for me its now

Classic Vibe vs. Epi Dot/Firebird vs. this :http://www.zzounds.com/item--IBAAJD91 Artcore.

Other than obvious sound differences, which is the best quality/overall awesomeness wise?

Epiphone makes a Dot/Firebird? whoa, that would be sweet.

Not a fan of that artcore, personally.

I will say epiphone dots are great sounding guitars. I would play it first though.

what kind of sound you looking for?

Telecaster = twangy cleans and biting distortion.

Dot = fuller frequency range.

My bad, I meant I'm looking at the Dot and the Firebird. Honestly I'm still undecided on the sound issue. I could tell you exactly what I would want in a bass, but as for getting my first guitar, I'm just not sure. But if I decide I want a telecaster I'll grab the Squier Classic Vibe for sure.
