As a matter of interest, and I'm not trying to goad or prove you wrong or owt, have you tried an SG with a big neck? A standard rather than a '61? SG's never made sense to me when I played the Epi's, and tried a 61, with their weedy little necks, but when I tried a Standard and a Tokai, I was smitten - about the biggest neck of any guitar I've ever had (including a MIJ tele 52 ri), but amazingly comfy and fast. Whipped the humbuckers out and replaced with P90s, and it was a doozy.

I imagine a big neck would exaggerate the already pathetic lack of balance in that guitar, and cause it to want to nosedive groundwards all the more.

Yeah I've played a Gibson standard. I really hate them, they're too thin, unbalanced, and for some reason the ones I've played had very poor tuning stability.

Crosstown Traffic
All Along The Watchtower
The Wind Cries Mary
Little Wing
Foxy Lady

is all I like really. I don't really understand the big shakes behind Voodoo Chile either, and Purple Haze is kind of alright.
I never sit down and thing "Yeah, I'm going to listen to Jimi Hendrix". I just don't care.
Have you heard the studio version of Dolly Dagger? And Pali Gap's a great instrumental. IMHO, of course.

I don't even like the "famous" instrumentals that everyone is supposed to like.

That's the beauty of the Tokai, y'see. Knocked the spots off all the Gibson's I played. Still, you say potato...

I was actually going to cite Albatross. It's incredibly boring.

I really don't get it. It sounds like a warm up exercise repeated ad nauseum.

The sooner you people realise my taste is impeccible and you're all drones, the better.

I'm just listening to 'Albatross' again now since I have Fleetwood Mac's best of on my computer.

Do not want. Even before the sodding pathetic M&S Food associations. Give me Go Your Own Way.

Doog if you have instrumentals only I'm going to the Albq instead.

I actually can't stand it.

Fleetwood mac band rehearsal:

"hey fellas, I done wrote some seven or eight seconds of music"

"me too"

"grand. let's keep alternating them back and forth for the next five minutes"

"shouldn't we write some more?"

"what? no, have some cocaine instead"

"oh, okay then"

WE AGREE.

There's hope for you yet, AmpKiller. Let's both point at Doog and laugh.

I prefer the flip side of the single, "Jigsaw Puzzle Blues", also instrumental.

It's more interesting than a thread about Tubescreamers.
