diy templates?
seriously, someone has to know how to at least get the correct dimensions of a guitar body and blow it up to a printable size... i have searched everywhere for an ibanez iceman body template... i don't want to pay $56 for a wooden one and i'm sure nobody else wants to either. some sites charge for just schematics of it... imo this information should be free. does anyone know the secret resource for body templates? please?

You should go to Guitar Center and bring one down off the wall, roll out some paper, and trace it. Seriously.
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus
Not having any chance of getting hold of the guitar I wanted to copy, I made my own tracing using this photo....

A flat screen, an accurate ruler, a little bit of scaling up mathematics, and a fair bit of patience. Parts of it are freehand because I wasn't bothered about getting it exact. (The line near the arm countour isnt a contour line, it's where I rubbed an old line out.)

If you have a guitar, I would jus print it ut and try and relate it to your real guitar. Or the pick up routes - ya know, if they can fit a pup, then it works, right?r40f wrote:alright, thanks for the responses so far... James, what is a good point of reference to use for scaling up the drawing? how does one go about doing it? i don't quite get it.
i don't really have good freehand skills at all

Maybe they'll help you out.
