What's the point of those white plastic saddles in that picture? What's the supposed advantage of fake ivory saddles, besides not being harmful to elephants and walruses?
they are "tusq" which is supposed to be slippery like graphite, thus making the strings slide over the saddles nice and smooth when using the trem. of course you might as well just throw all that out when you wrap the strings all the way around the bridge.
