I managed to fix my tubescreamer. I went back to the design and discovered that i had two of the wires which led to the volume pot wired wrongly on the pcb side (right colours, wrong slots). So essentially the 2 and 1 lugs had the wrong wires going to them. I swapped them around and hey presto, bob was my uncle and his last name was volume. So everything is working great now. Thanks for everyones help with it. Now to pair it with my Box of Mike and see what couple tones i can get out such an blasphemous union.

Awesome! Well chuffed you got it sorted, and you posted with such panache about it that I'm almost happy a new tubescreamer has made it's way into the world.

Nothing is more satisfying than successful debug in my experience.

Fuck yes.
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus
