What should i do with this slut?

Painting? Routing? Set-up tips? Or just straight-up making a guitar from scratch? Post here, and post pics!

no, not this one [but i could think of a few things]

THIS ONE!

spaghetti =) [+ guts]

silver saddles and tuners off of a squire strat [all black hardware originally]

the white pup is a freebie from tribi9

some specs on this thing:
All mahogany body
set mahogany neck
rosewood board
jumbo frets
the neck and body are pretty slim

i THINK that i'm going to paint it up white, maybe even a pearl/sparkle white

i can fill all the holes [not the pup cavities] and have the electronics any way i suppose

anyone have a crazy idea of what to do with it?

and yes, i want this thing to be insane

cut off the ugly bevelled edges for a super-narrow telestang then paint it a good color and use chrome hardware like nature intended and upgrade the pups.

don't listen to rof4 er whatever his name is.
the carved top is cool.
what if you filled the hole, then routed for p-90's?

yeah, i dig the contours too much to do that

p-90's would be awesome

i'm not sure that i have the skill to fill out the cavities for that though
i could always do hum sized p-90s but that loses alot of mojo

def. going oly white, really want to keep that sparkle tho so i might do a pearl

and yes, chrome hardware is a much

any thoughts on doing a traditional style tele bridge? not sure on how the spacing is on everything....

well, the finish does look pretty cool as it is. Keeping the project easy, chrome hardware and white pickups, rings and knobs would look awesome.

put chrome pickups and bridge in it. Phat-Cats would look and sound great in that guitar.

dave's suggestion on the phat cats lead me straight to gfs [or course]
and then directly to the mean 90's

they're a little hotter than the duncan's and of course half the price

decisions, decisions...

Except not gold.
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

That'd well nice if the other knob wasn't on the scratchplate.

Yeah I think the location of that knob on the guard would drive me crazy

Except that the guard is a faux archtop style that would normally be angled upward. I think I'd get used to it. It's arbitrary, really. It's strange, but when you're playing it you don't look at it the same way.

other than the gold, and the pick gaurd [it's a carved top] i like the simple 2 knob and les paul 3-way location

my first thoughts were to do a deluxe style wiring onnit

maybe this?

i think this plan has alot of versatility :D

I didn't think there were that many Squier Tele Custom set-necks made - future collectable? There was a lovely red one in our local music shop that I coveted but didn't buy. Are they really cheap in USA?

yeah they're quite rare, only made on 2001 in korea, bought [new?] for $322

UPDATE!
sanded the neck down to the sexy mahogany

going to stain the mahogany neck and do a white head stock, decal joe shit, will take a pick when i get some moar progress done

question!
all i have is 180 grit sp
is that like.. awful for now? just getting down to the wood
i can get a higher grit before i seal and primor it
but this is my first time doing this and i'm learning as i go
not a good idea?
