I just bought some, they fit my Japanese Mustang, don't know about US/Mex. Top quality stainless steel.
if anyone needs one you can buy them here for 10p each, but the minimum charge for postage seems to be £1.95, so 10 cost me £3, if you want one or two I can let you have them for 30p each (cost to me) + 36p (stamp)

there was someone else that thought the stangs were made in mexico.
its not that confusing really.
fender has factories in japan, china, mexico, u.s.,korea, and i think somewhere else.
and all of them get sold in the u.s. well, besides the cool jap fenders.

yeah, I have no idea why I thought the 65 RI's were mexican, probably because you can buy them everywhere in the UK, where as the '69 RI you can only get from certain places and are always sold as 'Fender Japan imports' and are usually more expensive ....as the classic series strats and tele's are MIM I guess I just presumed the mustangs were too....you learn something new every day.
my gf's 06 malibu was made in korea.
i think my 86 was made in korea as well.
altho i believe my 02 12 string was made in indonesia.
don't they have a factory in tiawan as well?(sp?)
