Strat Treble Bleed mod

Post by turtle »

Anyone ever do this?

it is supposed to be able to make a strat back off volume without losing the infamous amount of trebel it currently loses.
whoever wrote:The stock volume pot found on most guitars shunts some of the treble frequencies to ground (where they are lost) when the volume is set at anyplace less than full volume. The 'treble bleed cap' merely allows those frequencies to bypass being shunted to ground. The only parts needed are a .002uf capacitor and a 100K resister. The Capacitor and Resistor are wired in series (end to end) and then wired onto the guitar's volume pot.
I have ordered the parts and plan on doing it.

This is quite a common mod. The vol control on my Duo -thing has it. Works okay.
