Strat push/pull = 7

Post by turtle »

Anyone ever do this?
besides the five way selector, in the pull mode it combines all or the bridge and neck giving one seven combinations on a strat.

I've ordered and will give it a try.
Even if you didn't like the mode...not "pulled" it remains original.

doit.

i'm a fan of silly switches on strats. my current tweaker is on 3 x 3-ways (Full/Off/Tapped for each pickup) replacing the 5-way switch, whilst the tone-pot is another pull switch that brings in a torres mid-shift thingy...

prior to this, i had - as you're about to order - a pull switch to bring in the bridge pickup regardless of where the 5-way was, allowing the 7 sounds. Imho, the only thing of use is the outer two pickups. All three on doesn't sound too different to neck+middle but is a nice to have, whilst neck+bridge is really useful. combine it with a tappable humbucker in the bridge and it starts getting really interesting...

I don't have a reverse wound middle pickup so doesn't that cancel the humbucker part?

tell me more about the tone upgrade?

the guy that told be about this the 7 way likes switches too and he added a toggle rather than a push/pull
I didn't want to add a hole.

non reverse-wound middle pickup cancels the humbucker-like arrangement i guess - my previous scratchplate had a JB-Jr in the bridge, hence the tapping switch aswell

tone thing was a torres kit (super-midrange and tone switch) that adds a passive mid-shifter for more weirdness. pull the pot out and it's back to a normal tone pot

I had put a jb jr in the bridge...it was OK but I hated the number 4 position and had loved it. That is what led me to getting NON reverse wound set of pickups. So I went from a neck lover only to now my favorite is 4

I'm looking at that super midrange torres now.

I put a simple "neck on" switch into my Strat, loves me some neck&bridge action-o.

cool doog..............

I had been about to hit "continue" on the super mid boost, the shipping was 7.95
Sometimes I get miffed/put off with certain things...and 7.95 for a pot in a bubble bag would be one, after the pot already being 27.95

need to think on it
