Powering EHX, Dod, RAT from an ac/dc brick

Post by Fran »

Searched high and low today for a male adaptor tip that will connect onto the end of a standard female adaptor or a lead that does the same. Can i hell as like find one. Just loads of them crappy two pin tips that means you need an extra power supply.
Do any UKers know if maplins stock these? I checked the website and it looks like they do, or any other suppliers?
Dont say diago either, they've already ripped me off once.
Thanks.

What happened with Diago? I bought two of the adaptors you want on different occasions and had no problems. The price isn't that low though.

You can sometimes get diago style adaptors on ebay, usually in the ebay shop section and at a similar to diago price.

Eh?

James has always been nothing but the complete gentlemen in my (and many other people's) dealings with him. Explain.

I just rummaged through my draw and I still have my Diago RAT adaptor from when I had a RAT2. You're welcome to it, Fran.

Yes they are them Kim, the positive tip adaptors. I need one for thursday ideally so i shall try a couple of electronics stores tomorrow first.

I ordered a 9v to 18v converter cable off Diago and it never came. I emailed them and the first time and they said it was out of stock, the other two emails they ignored. I checked their feedback and they are far from kosher, a few people have opened disputes with them. Anyway, at the time i was busy with work and lost interest over the small ammount of money lost so never took it further. Besides, euan never gave me the Ibanez Flanger back that the cable was intended for.. So, i lose on both counts lol.

I'll put it in the post tomorrow, PM me your address.

I'm sure James was just busy and would deeply regret knowing that you're dissatisfied with his service, as I say he's been nothing but perfect with me in the past.

Does it connect to an ac/dc brick? If so your a gent mike!

I'm sure the ebay order was direct to Diago, i'd have to go into my ebay history to be 100% sure though. Fuck em anyway. I'll never recommend them ever.

It doesn't go diret to an AC/DC brick, but it converts the boss style adaptor they use.

You're not really listening to us, and I think it's a shame you'd write them off as a company. They're British, they're small - and I'm happy to endorse them.

Yes, it has a female adaptor for a boss style jack on one side and a RAT style 3.5mm plug on the other (like a headphone jack). You just plug one lead from your AC/DC brick into the female adaptor and the other side into your pedal.

Exactly, it does the job. The reason is so it can convert a single AC adaptor and not just ones with boss style inputs for the power leads.

Cool. It didn't sound like James' Customer Service to me.

I'm sure HurBz and a few others have purchased from them without trouble, but checking their feedback says they are hit and miss.
