Vintage sounding fuzzes?
Hey, i'm looking to get a vintage sounding fuzz. NOT anything like a Big Muff nyc, or anything too crazy and thick. More something like "Stay With Me" - The Faces". Any suggestions? I'm looking into the Frantone Peachfuzz right now so if anyone knows anything about that i'll be glad to hear what you gotta say.

Those ProGuitarShop Reviews are sweet! I've been watching them all day. I really like their review on the Peachfuzz and this wierd pedal called the Durham Electronics Crazy Horse. I really like fuzzes that sound sorta like fuzzy overdrive. I can't stand the crazy fuzzes like the Big Muff. I bought a used one once strictly because Jack White had one and after trying to make myself like it for days, it just wouldn't work for me. I like distortion that when u listen closely, you could sorta hear fuzz, especially on chordy rhythm parts.RumorsOFsurF wrote:I've heard good things about the Cream Puff, too...

How about the new Danelectro Cool Cat Fuzz ?
if you wanna hear a peach fuzz in all its bassy action check this band :
http://www.myspace.com/comanechi or on youtube
simon doesn't use a lot of other pedals (no other fuzzes i believe ?) but does use a dual amp setup (?), some hiwatt top and the other one is a bass amp setup or just the cab, i should check some live pixors

Their sound is alright. Only I'll probably be using the pedal on lower settings. I'm looking for a tone like this (first 13 seconds of vid)heavium wrote:if you wanna hear a peach fuzz in all its bassy action check this band :

Depends what you want to pay really. Anything with Germ AC125 or AC128's should be close to that sound, dont really need to buy boutique, you could check Fulltone, Roger Mayer, Jim Dunlop and the various handmade classic fuzz pedals that surface on ebay lately. Anyone worth their salt should have sound samples available.
