They're one of the few half decent things we can get for cheap in the UK: you've got your $500 dollar Bassman heads, so you don't take these away from us, y'hear?

unless the tone from those things is the sonic equivalent to fellatio from a porn star, then you guys can definitely keep 'em. ugly as sin, they are.

That one's overpriced IMHO. You can get them on eBay in UK for £80-120. Occasionally you get a bargain.

Time for some HH porn.

Back in the day, the heads were cheap, light and rugged with a hi-fi clean sound up until the VS (Valve Sound) range. People like Steve Hackett (Genesis) used the IC100S. The glowing EL panel was the biz. Enter the VS range: back before valve amps had master volume the VS had FET crunch and master volume, which gigging musicians playing pubs and clubs needed. You can't blast the bingo players in the British Legion, Rugeley, with an Orange Graphic 120 in overdrive and expect to get asked back. When they lost the EL panel I sort of lost interest, although they went on with 250W bass amps, amps with pluggable effect modules, 900W PA amps, etc.

Why now? Because they're damn' cheap for 100W, very portable (heads), reliable; then there's nostalgia (some of the 80s bands used them as well as Genesis, T Rex..). You have to admit, having a panel where you can actually read the controls in the dark is handy.

Suitably disguised* used untraceable banknotes are on their way. Sorry for the delay.

Muahahah! Glowiness conquers over common sense!
