so i've had this guitar kicking around for many years, when i bought it it was dark green, i sanded it down , painted it olypic white, and then destoryed it, into the current fashion you see below.
this is probably the most recent pick of the body since i got bored and grabbed a paint brush and some house paint

anyways i destroyed the neck last year at a gig and couldn't think of anything to do with it, so it sat in a box until last week (i snagged a jagmaster neck from ebay)
but the pocket is really to small for anything, so i though hell i'll just route it out..
turns out the only power tools i can get my hands on are a skill saw, and a sander..

i'm thinking those are both bad options.

the plan is to sand it down, in a relic fashion, stain it so that the natural wood isn;t bland white, route the neck, find a bridge that will work, and swap the bridge pup for a humbucker.
so obviously i'll need a new pick guard as well, since i'm not about to go and attempt to cut through metal with the tools i have on hand.

i'll post pics as it progresses.

also any thoughs on how to modify the neck pocket would be nice.

yea, you pretty much trashed this body. but I like that pickguard shape. it would be cool to take a strat body and use that guard.

you know...fuck me for saying this and all...but i think you should just find a neck you like and will fit on it, and then just slap it on there, put some good PUPs in it and rock the fuck out as is.

that guitar has character, which is impossible to replace.

get a dremel and a base for it, that will do you right without breaking the bank, and plus it will come in handy time and time again.
whats the scale on that thing anyway?

yeah i spent 9 months looking for a neck that would fit, but the pocket is small, the dude i bought it from had picked it up from some guy who used to build guitars in his spare time. but that contact is long lost.

i think that might be the best way to go.

scale with original neck was strat, but the body is really small for it, i always thought it was a short scale until i measured it out

but the jagmaster neck is 25.5 anyways. and i can move the bridge around to anywhere.

i actually sanded down the front, i'll tos some pics up soonish. my work rotation just changed form nights to mid days, so it may slow me down a little.

i have some updated pics form work i did over the weekend. but i won't be able to post them till later..
and alas i didn;t get the dremel idea until after i had attempted to do some work with my jigsaw.
but its totally slavagable.

my failed attempt that i can recover from for the neck pocket

what i have left of the origianl neck

body post sand job, needed to keep some of the mojo

i've decided to leave the back, as its kind of evil looking

current wiring

the bridge will be replaced with a humbucker, and the pup switches i'll probably put in a togle with the new pick guard

how it looks with the new neck (not screwed in)

so all i have left to do. is everything

so i picked up a dremel for 15 bucks at the local canadian tire.. and made work on the neck pocket, its ugly, but it works.

next picks should be with the new pick guard, and everything put together.
then i can get back to working on my mustang project.

tryed use Clamps and wood glue ? ,

you can try do glue an piece of wood and do reinforcement

thanks for the heads up.. if i'd had anything but the headstock left i would have done that.
but i'm pretty stoked about how the jagmaster neck works on it
i'm also making my new pick guard today.

since weather and work wouldn't co-op and i've got some vacation i figured i should finish this thing up
so that i can put together my 74 mustang (with 22" duo sonic neck)

the pick guard is a bit rough but i just etched it out and figured drill it in for placement i can make her look pretty after.

and its way to bright outside.. but so it goes
and put in the bridge but due to a)having too small a drill bit, and b) being off buy about 1.5mm i'm going to have to get creative on how this bridge is going on

either way, just need to pull the guard off pretty it up, and add in some holes for the pups and i should be good to go (wiring is already done.. and working, noise, but its not grounded yet.

i'm lazy so i pulled out the switches, didnt have a toggle kicking about so i figured just wire it direct to the volume

and clean it all up, with painters tape.. this may be the cause of my grounding issue.. but i'm not likely to find out

but it all works.
now for the pegs and some strings
it now has a new name Noisemaster
and it looks evil
